Hi, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Sarah Savage I am a local to Gippsland, Mother of 2 and a passion for working with youth and members of our community.
I have worked in the Welfare sector for 10 years in various roles with my primary work with children in Out Of Home Care and disengaged youth. I work in a trauma informed practice model incorporating a holistic approach in all my delivery.
My work experience has included working in and with, Berry Street, Anglicare, Department of Health and Human Services, Deakin University, and GippsTAFE as a Trainer and Assessor in the VCAL, Hospitality, and Youth Development unit.
I am a full member of Australian Community Workers Association with Qualifications in Youth Work, Counselling, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services, Training and Assessment, and an Accredited Youth Mental Health First Aider.
My education and work experiences in welfare and education has given me an insight to some of the many barriers that young people are facing that can lead to high risk behaviour's, social exclusion, and disengagement from education.
My aim is provide social and emotional learning programs through rhythm and discussion to cover the topics that create our life skills including, values, healthy relationships, peer pressure, identity and embracing our place in the wider community.
